'Been A Fabulous Player': Coach Wasim Jaffer Hails Prabhsimran Singh Post His Batting Heroics Vs RR

<p class="p1">The Punjab-based batter Prabhsimran Singh hogged all the limelight on Wednesday after he smashed 60 runs against Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Post his heroics with the bat, PBKS coach Wasim Jaffer stated lauded the star batter and said he is a fabulous player.</p> <p class="p1">&ldquo;He&rsquo;s been a fabulous player but no matter how good you are, you need a consistent run so he can play a lot more fearlessly,&rdquo; said Jaffer in the post-match conference.</p> <p class="p1">Since players like KL Rahul, and Mayank Agarwal are not with the Punjab-based franchise anymore and also Johny Bairstow has been ruled out, Prabhsimran can now play regularly in the team.</p> <p class="p1">&ldquo;He&rsquo;s always been a good player and it&rsquo;s good that it&rsquo;s come good, which is a good sign because we don&rsquo;t have Bairstow&hellip;somebody at the top bats like that so I&rsquo;m really happy for him,&rdquo; he added.</p> <p class="p1">The 22-year-old batter smashed seven fours and three sixes and tormented the Rajasthan&rsquo;s bowlers, especially in the first 10 overs to reach his IPL maiden half-century in just 28 balls. Skipper Shikhar and Prabhsimran also put on a huge stand of 90 runs for the opening stand off just 61 balls.</p> <p class="p1">Apart from Prabhsimran, Dhawan also starred with the bat as at one stage he was playing run-a-ball innings of 30 off 30 balls but when his colleague departed, the PBKS skipper changed his gears and scored 56 off the next 26 balls that he faced.</p> <p class="p1">Jaffer also talked about Dhawan&rsquo;s knock, &ldquo;I think when Prabsimran was going so well he obviously knew that he could take his time to fiddle. That&rsquo;s where experience counts&rdquo;.</p> <p class="p1">&ldquo;When Prabsimran got out he (Shikhar) took the chance and batted through the innings. We wanted somebody from the top 3 batters to play till 18-19 overs and he did exactly that,&rdquo; he added.</p> <p class="p1">&ldquo;Somebody, as experienced as him, knows how to use the pace and he did exactly that,&rdquo; he added.</p>
