It was on January 17, 2008, that leg-spin legend Anil Kumble became the third bowler in Test cricket to take 600 wickets. Fondly called 'Jumbo' by his former team-mates, Kumble achieved the feat against Australia during the third Test of the 2007-08 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Kumble announced his retirement from international cricket in 2008.
